Managing Holiday Chaos! Cookie Fiasco!

The holidays are pretty wild in our house--two decorating mavens in Be and Da (my twelve year old seventh graders). This year, Be and Da created a huge winter wonderland from air dry clay. They had a fabulous time with it. Check out the pics below. We had dreams of making chocolate chip cookies, sugar cookies and gingerbread cookies. These dreams were threatened by the breaking of the oven's igniter.

That's Life Mama!==best laid plans, etc. My wife did not want to repair our oven because she hates it! The buttons don't work and drive us crazy trying to reach temperature. You also have to remember to the hit the start button!! This was three days before Christmas. We carried on, with much crying and drama, and decided to use the toaster oven. The test batch tasted great--chocolate chips! The whole family liked the results. Fast forward to Christmas Eve---three doughs made and ready to go with small batches in the toaster oven. After the first batch---the toaster oven breaks--no heating element is glowing or working!

WTF! This has been my life in 2025! I resorted to making cookie pancakes---they were interesting! Santa did not mind one bit!
